Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom became the first film to be released in theaters after the second wave of the Corona pandemic. Released on August 19, the film got an opening of 2.75 crores. It was expected that the film would get an edge at the box office on the weekend. According to reports, the film earned 2.75 crores on Friday, 3.25 crores on Saturday and 4.30 crores on Sunday. Overall, the film has earned around 13.05 crores in four days. Trade analysts believe that the film has gained a little due to Raksha Bandhan.

There are reports that this film will be released on the digital platform after four weeks. Amazon Prime Video has already bought the rights to this film. If sources are to be believed, producer Vasu Bhagnani will allow the film to release in theatres and wanted to release on the digital platform only a week later, but after negotiating terms with the multiplex chain, it has been agreed on four weeks. The Bell Bottom has been released at a time when theaters have not been allowed to open in Maharashtra, while in the rest of the states, permission has been given to open with fifty percent capacity. About 30 percent of the film’s earnings come from Maharashtra.
