Sunil Gavaskar has expressed his disappointment with the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, stating that he expected more from him. Gavaskar believes that the coaching staff, including coach Rahul Dravid, should also take responsibility for the team’s defeat. According to Gavaskar, captaincy in India is different from abroad, and performing well in overseas conditions is the real challenge. He also expressed disappointment with Rohit’s performance abroad, despite his success in winning five IPL trophies and captaining many matches. Gavaskar further added that it was disappointing not to see India reach the final of the ICC tournament. Speaking at an event, he reminisced about his own World Cup win in 1983, stating that it was one of the best moments of his career.
