Athlete Neeraj Chopra, who made the country proud by winning a gold medal in the javelin throw at the Olympic 2020 Games held in Tokyo this year, will be seen playing in a special episode of the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 13 on Friday. In this episode, he will be accompanied by Olympic bronze medalist Indian hockey team goalkeeper PR Sreejesh. Neeraj will donate the money won in this game show to Inspire Institute of Sports of Bellary, Karnataka, and PR Sreejesh to Abhiyan Vidyakiranam, Government of Kerala. According to sources, during this time both the players shared their journey with Amitabh Bachchan.
Neeraj told, ‘At the age of 13-14, I was overweight. My uncle asked me to choose between sports and studies. I told him my choice of studies thinking that he would be proud of me. He knew about me so asked me to join sports. When they sent me to the stadium, I didn’t know which game I would play. I just went there to lose weight. There were a lot of games in the stadium, but it was nice to see the seniors throwing the javelin and watching it go away and get stuck on the ground and I felt like I wanted to do it. I tried it and enjoyed it a lot.
