‘Punjab 95’ to premiere at Toronto Film Festival

Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming film ‘Punjab 95’ has been creating a lot of buzz in the film industry. The first look of the film has been revealed, and it looks promising. The film is all set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023, making it the first film of the year to premiere at the festival.
Directed by Honey Trehan, ‘Punjab 95’ is based on the story of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. The film stars Diljit Dosanjh, Arjun Rampal, and Suvinder Vicky in lead roles. The film revolves around the life of Jaswant Singh Khalra, who worked in a bank and lived a happy life with his family until he stumbled upon a truth that changed his life forever.
During the insurgency in the 90s, 25,000 people were killed, and illegal cremations took place in Punjab, which Khalra investigated. His investigation led to a lot of protests, and he was eventually abducted and killed by the police. The film sheds light on this dark chapter in Punjab’s history and the struggle of a man who fought for justice.
Earlier, the film was titled ‘Ghallughara’, but the makers later changed it to ‘Punjab 95’. The film is produced under the banner of McGuffin Pictures and is expected to be a hard-hitting drama that will leave a lasting impact on the audience.
