Streamline the transfer drive in 4 months: High Court

Chandigarh: While disposing of the petitions filed regarding irregularities in the transfer of teachers of government schools in Haryana, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered the Director Secondary Education to streamline the transfer drive in 4 months. Justice Harnaresh Singh Gill, while giving relief to the petitioners in the judgment, said that these teachers should not be transferred till the next transfer drive. The petitions filed said that there are irregularities in the transfer drive.

Demand letters of teachers against students are under consideration in many schools. Many teachers were transferred under the policy, but new teachers have reached only a few schools in their place. The counsel for the Haryana government said in the court that on May 5, 2023, the Director Secondary Education Haryana issued a letter saying that due to the flaws in the previous transfer drive, efforts are being made to remove them this time. Considering the number of students in the schools, it has been decided to run the transfer drive. Cooperation is being taken at the school, district and headquarters level to remove the shortcomings in the transfer drive.
