Vicky Kaushal in title role in Sardar Udham Singh biopic

Vicky Kaushal starrer Sardar Udham will release on October 16 on Amazon Prime Video, almost two years after the shooting was completed in 2019. The film is a biopic of the revolutionary Sardar Udham Singh, who killed General Michael Dyer, who was responsible for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Sardar Udham Singh went to London in 1940 and killed General Dyer. The trailer of the film was released in Mumbai on Thursday. Director Shoojit Sircar and actor Vicky Kaushal were present along with the producers of the film.

Vicky said, ‘Usually the story of revolutionaries like Sardar Udham Singh in our books can be found in a single page or paragraph. I have been hearing his story from my grandmother. So I had a different kind of connection with him. For this, I did not need to read history books. Vicky also told that during the shooting of another film, he had suffered an injury on his face, which left scars. When Vicky told director Shoojit about this, he said that it doesn’t matter, we will shoot with the injury marks. Therefore, the marks shown on Vicky’s face in the role of Sardar Udham Singh in this film are real. Amol Parashar is in the role of Bhagat Singh along with Vicky in the film.
