Web Series ‘The Railway Men’ made on Bhopal Gas Tragedy

The country largest film production company Yash Raj Films (YRF) creating content for the digital platform has been in the news for the past several days. Now the first web series under its banner The Railway Men has been officially announced. It will be produced for the YRF digital platform under the banner YRF Entertainment. Five shows will be made under this banner in the first year. The web series The Railway Men will be based on the Bhopal gas tragedy case. It is dedicated to the personnel working at Bhopal station at that time. The show will feature R Madhavan, KK Menon, Divyendu Sharma and Babil Khan in pivotal roles.

The shooting of the show, directed by debutant director Shiv Rawail, has started on Wednesday. The series was announced on the 37th anniversary of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. On December 2, 1984, about five lakh people in the surrounding areas were affected by the leakage of a poisonous gas called methyl isocyanate from the Union Carbide India Limited plant in Bhopal. 3787 people lost their lives in the world’s worst industrial disaster. Speaking about the show Yogendra Mogre, Executive Producer, YRF says, The Railway Men is our salute to the courage, spirit and humanity of the personnel working at Bhopal station at that time.
