The film ‘The Great Indian Rescue’ will be released on October 5.

Akshay Kumar is currently in the news for his upcoming film ‘The Great Indian Rescue’, which also stars Parineeti Chopra in the lead role. The film, which was earlier titled ‘Capsule Gill’, is based on a true incident in the life of Late Shri Jaswant Singh Gill, who led India’s first coal mine rescue operation and saved 64 miners from a flooded mine in West Bengal in 1989.

Gill, who was from Amritsar, received many awards for bravery and passed away at the age of 80 in 2019. ‘The Great Indian Rescue’ is set to release on October 5 this winter and is produced by Pooja Entertainment, with Tinu Suresh Desai directing the film. This marks the second time that Akshay and Parineeti will be seen working together, after their previous collaboration in the 2019 film ‘Kesari’. Tinu Suresh Desai and Akshay Kumar have previously worked together in the 2016 film ‘Rustom’.
